Carl L. Parker, Sr., President of the Brunswick County NAACP was invited as the keynote speaker by Pastor Carl Nichols and the congregation on August 30, 2026, at Mt. Hebron A.M.E. Zion Cchruge, 570 Red Bug Road, Hallsboro, NC 28433, for Deaconess Day. He was asked to speak on Voting from the Biblical Responsibility. The subject he used was: "Voting is not Just a Right - It is a Biblical Responsibility". Scripture references: Proverbs 31:8-9, Jeremiah 29:7, and Exodus 15:21. He concluded with: "Our ancestors Paid a Price - We must Honor Their Sacrifice."
